Anniversary Celebrations June 2014

To celebrate one year of being open we invited parents and guests to celebration afternoon, followed by an hour with guest speaker Sarah Hendrikx who talked about her own experience of living with Asperger Syndrome on Thursday 26th June.  We had a great time and all the students made hats and received a party bag full of surprises.

Some of the students put on their own performances including:

Hogwarts at Copass – drama club

Ed Sheeran’s Little things sung by Zak
Let it go (theme from Disney’s Frozen) sung by Camran
Take That’s Rule The World by the Choir with Lilly on lead vocals
Keane’s Somewhere only we know duet with Lilly and Alexander
We will rock you and other solo pieces
by the CoPASS Band

The sun shone down and students had a relaxed time off classes and their parents joined us for afternoon tea themed street party. Top marks for effort goes to Mrs Ives who was up late preparing 120 beautifully decorated cupcakes.

If you weren’t able to make it to the afternoon, here’s a video of us enjoying ourselves.

The students had spent time in the previous week creating a piece of commemorative art which will be on display in the main reception area after summer.

We also released 100 balloons – one for every member of out staff and students team here at CoPASS, including Mrs Napthine who unfortunately wasn’t able to be with us on the afternoon.
